Culture/Nature in Global Studies is an academic field that has been pursued interdisciplinarily for decades in various countries and regional contexts. These studies are supported by the organization Brasil-Europa, an academic community dedicated to the study of cultural processes in global contexts. The international studies are conducted using Euro-Brazilian relations as a frame of reference.


The analyses serve to understand cultural conditioning and the relationships between culture and nature, and to promote human and animal rights. The studies and reflections are oriented towards the present and the future.


Brasil-Europa is the first institution with these objectives. It has a long history of reflection, research, and initiatives, including colloquia, symposia, and congresses, conducted in cooperation with governmental and private institutions as well as universities. Its headquarters are in Germany, and it maintains a study center in Brazil that supports Brazilian institutions pursuing the same goals.
